In my coaching practice, I integrate Appreciative Inquiry, Positive Psychology, and mindfulness to support parents in creating more connected and joyful family lives, especially in navigating the top challenges they face with their teenagers—communication struggles, loss of connection, and feeling overwhelmed by the pressure to "fix" things.
Using Appreciative Inquiry, we focus on identifying and amplifying the strengths within the family dynamic, shifting attention to what’s working well and how to build upon it, particularly in improving communication with teens. With Positive Psychology, I guide parents in cultivating a mindset of gratitude, resilience, and optimism, empowering them to approach challenges with confidence and a positive outlook. Mindfulness practices help parents stay present and calm amidst the stress of teenage years, fostering greater emotional awareness, patience, and a deeper connection, even when it feels like they’re losing touch.
I also have a special focus on working with parents of LGBTQ+, transgender and gender diverse kids and teens, offering tailored support and guidance to help parents navigate the unique challenges of these relationships with compassion and understanding. Together, these approaches create a nurturing space for growth, healing, and the transformation of family relationships.
I would be happy to accompany you in starting and deepening this process. Write to me or give me a call to take the first step.
